U.S. Energy Development Corporation was formed in 1980 as a successor to Oilmark & Company, Inc., founded in 1978. Both companies were successful operators of private placement drilling funds that primarily drilled in Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania. From 1985 - 1995, the company focused on developmental drilling and acquisitions in its core area of operations. During this period, over 400 wells were drilled.

In 1995, U.S. Energy expanded its operations to exploit opportunities throughout North America with the company's focus on risk mitigation, economic performance and tax advantages. Today, U.S. Energy is involved in projects in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Kansas, West Virginia, Michigan, North Dakota, Montana, and Ontario, Canada. The company has been ranked among the Top 50 Independent Oil & Natural Gas Drillers in the United States^[1] and is one of the largest drillers in both New York and Pennsylvania. Since 1980, U.S. Energy has acted as operator with respect to the drilling of more than 2,500 wells.

To reduce risk and increase the potential returns for our program partners, U.S. Energy supplements our professional staff with industry-leading consultants that have the hands-on skills in their field of expertise. These consultants can also provide us with an independent 3rd party review of geologic prospects; which is an invaluable tool when making investment decisions. U.S. Energy has always taken great pride in a reputation for fair and honest dealings in our business relationships and we expect the same from all of our partners. We only participate in projects that we personally believe in and have thoroughly reviewed. Since our own capital is at risk, project quality is imperative. U.S. Energy will never recommend a project for drilling to third party investors unless it has been thoroughly reviewed by professionals; both internal and external to our company.
