Mike Williams serves as Vice President of Engineering at U.S. Energy Development Corporation, where he manages and oversees all engineering aspects of the company’s acquisition and divestiture activities. Since joining U.S. Energy in 2023, he has brought deep technical expertise, strategic insight, and a strong track record of evaluating and developing oil and gas assets across the Lower 48.

With 25 years of industry experience, Williams has worked in all major basins in the continental United States. He began his career in 2001 with ExxonMobil Production Company in Houston as a reservoir engineer, where he focused on Permian Basin waterflood and CO2 flood management. In 2005, he moved to Fort Worth to join XTO Energy, where he advanced to Reservoir Development Manager for the Barnett Shale, the first major horizontal shale play in the U.S. At its peak, he oversaw development activity involving 30 drilling rigs.

Following XTO Energy’s merger with ExxonMobil, Williams held a series of managerial and executive roles with private companies in Fort Worth, with a strong emphasis on acquisition evaluations. Most recently, before joining U.S. Energy, he served as Vice President of Reservoir Engineering at Founders Oil & Gas, where he focused on the acquisition and development of conventional Permian Basin assets. He joined U.S. Energy after the successful sale of Founders’ assets through a marketed process in 2023.

Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi in 2001.
